Beverly M. Konieczny of Waretown, NJ, formerly of South Plainfield, NJ, passed away at home on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the age of 78.
Beverly worked at Schering Labs in the 1960s as a Laboratory Technician on the Garamycin Project where she met her loving husband of 51 years, John T. Konieczny. They started a family and she devoted the next 15 years to raising their children. As their children grew, she re-entered the workforce as the Administrative Assistant for the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Piscataway, NJ for the following 10 years. Upon retiring from UMDNJ, she worked for Frank Licato, DDS, in South Plainfield, NJ, until 2002 when she and her husband moved to Waretown, NJ, where they started their retirement together in February, 2003.
For the past 15 years, Beverly and her husband John, traveled through Europe and vacationed on numerous cruises to many parts of the world. They enjoyed socializing with friends, being active in their community at Greenbriar Oceanaire and simply, each other's company.
Beverly loved having her grandchildren around and spoiled them immensely every chance that she could.
Although she was not a professional dress maker, she was not an amateur by any means; creating some of the most beautiful dresses and elegant prom gowns for her daughters.
She was enthusiastically awaiting the arrival of her first Great Grandson due in February, 2018.
Beverly is survived by her loving and cherished husband, John T. Konieczny; her daughter, Lisa Opulski and her husband, Richard of Delano, Tennessee; her son, John T. Konieczny, Jr. of Grants Pass, Oregon; her daughter, Holly Berman of Shelbyville, Kentucky; and her son, Brian Mariano of Union, New Jersey. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jaime and Jessie Opulski, Robbie, Johnny and Ryan Konieczny, and Niko and Shana Mariano.
In lieu of flowers, Beverly was exceptionally generous to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and her wish was for donations to be sent there.
