Charles Henry “Charlie” Waiver passed away peacefully in his home in Forked River, NJ on June 21, 2017 after a short illness. He was surrounded by his five loving children. The love of his life Dolores Elizabeth Waiver (nee Fox) predeceased him in May of 2015.
Charlie was born in North Arlington New Jersey on November 14, 1931 to Mildred and Charles Waiver. He was an only child and after losing his mother at an early age was raised by his grandparents Augusta and Henry Moran. After graduating from North Arlington High School Charlie served his Country by enlisting in the United States Navy from 1951 until 1955. He then started work at Public Service Electric and Gas (PSG&G) as a welder where he stayed until he retired in 1996.
Dolores and Charlie spent most of their married life in Carteret, NJ raising four daughters and one son. Charlie and Dolores loved having neighbors over for barbeques where they would stay up to the wee hours of the night and then Charlie would then make everyone who was remaining a hearty breakfast. He was also an avid gardener.
He is survived by their children and their spouses and grandchildren: Donna and Eric Richert and their children Evan and Jensen, Colleen and Thomas Rush, Lynn Waiver, Susan and Michael Keenan and their children Sean and Michael and Glenn Waiver. After their retirement they moved to Forked River where Charlie took up the frustrating game of golf which he enjoyed up until he became ill in November of 2016.
