Eileen Marinaro Obituary

Eileen Barry Marinaro, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018. Born in Jersey City, where she resided most of her life, before permanently retiring to Forked River, New Jersey.  Growing up, Eileen also enjoyed many summers in Leonardo with her family and friends.

Eileen was a hardworking, loving, compassionate special education teacher.  She graduated from Seton Hall with a Bachelor Degree in Education. At the request of her building principal, Eileen was one of the first teachers to return to school to receive her Masters in Special Education. He knew Eileen was a gifted educator and her calling was to work with special education students. She shared that gift with many students in her twenty two years teaching at Public School 32 in Jersey City.

Eileen was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church.  It is there that she taught religious education for twenty years and was an active member of the Rosary Altar Society.  In addition, she was a member of the Lacey Township Historical Society. Eileen helped to initiate and later chaired, what is now a tradition in Lacey Township, the Annual Apple Festival. Without question, Eileen will be dearly missed by her family, friends and her community.

She is predeceased by her parents, John and Edna Ryan Barry, her sister Margaret Barry Snow, her brother Joseph Barry, and her nephew Brian O’Leary.

Surviving is her loving husband of 54 years, Joseph Marinaro.  She is also survived by her sister Dorothy O’Leary, her brother, Daniel Barry, her nephew Joseph O’Leary and his wife Marion, her nephew Bernard Snyder and his wife Suzanne, her nephew Gerald Snyder and his wife Mary as well as her nephew John Barry Snow and his wife Karen.  In addition, she is survived by her nephew Patrick Barry and his wife JoAnne, her niece Margaret, her nephew Robert, her nephew Christopher and his wife Kimberly, her nephew Daniel and his wife Kris. Eileen is also survived by many great and grand nieces and nephews that adored her as well.
