Robert “Bob” Chadwick, age 92, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.
He was born in Trenton, NJ. Bob and his wife, Dot resided in Hamilton Square, NJ, where they raised their three children. Bob worked as manager/bartender at the original Murphy’s Corner, Don Young’s Restaurant and Freddie’s Tavern in West Trenton, NJ.
Bob proudly and honorably served his country during WWII in the United States Marine Corps (Semper Fi).
For the past 27 years, he has lived in the Forked River section of Lacey Township with his daughter Eileen and son-in-law, Earl Lombardo. Those who knew Bob will remember him for his humor and great smile. He loved to make people laugh.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Dorothy “Dot” (McDermott), his parents, Edward and Marion Chadwick, his sister, Viola Stubenazy, his daughter-in-law Sherry Chadwick, and son-In-law, Gregory Angeline.
Bob is survived by his children, Robert J. (Donna) Chadwick (Co), Eileen (Earl) Lombardo), and Nancy Angeline (Pa); 6 Grandchildren, Stacey (Mark) Sly, Lori Bergland, Jodi Lombardo, Amy (Matt) Riley), John (Jaime) Lombardo, and Dennis Angeline; 8 Great Grandchildren, Jonathan (Kennedie), Danyelle and Jarren Sly; Nicholas and Kaila Bergland; Emma, Ethan, and Noah Riley; as well as, 2 Great Great Granddaughters, Madison and Caroline.
On Thursday, January, 12, 2017, the family will assemble from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Layton’s Home For Funerals for a private viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 300 W. Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Trenton, NJ, where he will join his beloved Dorothy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth St., N.W.
