Roger F. Coughlin, 81, of Waretown, NJ, died on January 1, 2017.    He was born in Orange, NJ to his parents Peter Coughlin and Mary (Naughton) Coughlin on August 21, 1935.  He lived most of his life in South Orange moving to Waretown in 2009.

Roger was a professional fire fighter for 37 years with the South Orange Fire Department retiring as Captain in 1999. He also was an Army Veteran.

Roger is survived by his wife of 52 years Diane K. (Knox), three sons; Craig M. of Robbinsville, NJ, Peter A. of Whitehouse Station, NJ, and Christopher S. of Basking Ridge, NJ, and two granddaughters; Megan and Kaitlyn and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 9, 2017 from 6:00 PM – 9:00PM at Layton’s Home For Funerals, Forked River, NJ. Burial with Military Honors will be Tuesday 11:00AM at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
