Frances Sirotniak

Frances Sirotniak (nee Kozireski), age 88, of Forked River, NJ died peacefully and surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 19th at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ.

Fran was born in Florida, New York in 1931. She met and married her husband, James J. Sirotniak in 1958 while she was living in Jersey City and he was serving in the U.S. Navy, stationed at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. They started their family and moved to Norfolk, VA and Groton, CT before settling in Forked River in 1975.

Fran was a proud Navy wife and loving mother. Amongst her greatest joys was in her role as Babchi (grandmother) to her grandchildren. She was a homemaker and an avid cook and gardener.  Nothing brought Fran more happiness than being surrounded by her family and cooking for them - if you were at Fran’s house you were never hungry. She was strong-willed to the end and always spoke her mind.  If you were lucky enough to be loved by Fran she loved you with her whole heart.

She was predeceased by her husband James J. Sirotniak, BMCM E-9 Master Chief Master Diver United States Navy, and her grandson Shawn Dion.  

Surviving are her beloved children; James Jr., Patricia Seymour (Charles), Michael (Lee Ann), and Jon (Amy), as well as her cherished grandchildren Jennie, Gannon, Casey, James, Lucas, Steven, Joseph and Matthew.
