Francis “Frank” Mancini Jr. was born on March 9, 1947 in Montclair, NJ to Frank and Angelina (Prestifilippo) Mancini. Frank unexpectedly passed away at the age of 71 at Hackensack University Medical Center, on Thursday December 27, 2018 after a courageous battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma.
Frank received his Master’s Degree in City & Regional Planning / Urban Development from Rutgers University in 1971. He was well-respected within the professional community as the Managing Director of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority for approximately 25 years. Frank retired from the NJEDA in 2002 and created Harborage, LLC to provide his expert financial assistance to business borrowers seeking SBA loans, conventional financing, redevelopment assistance and economic development.
Frank had a passion for golf and enjoyed hitting the links almost every Sunday with the “Bob’s”. He was also a bird whisperer, an armchair meteorologist/astronomer and a locally renowned amateur tide monitoring technician.
He was fortunate enough to spend some of his final moments relaxing on the North Shore of Oahu with his loving wife, Harriet (Bluestein), his three beloved sons, Frank III, Jonathan and Matthew, Frank III’s girlfriend Alex and Matthew’s fiancé Taylor. He is further survived by his brother Robert and his wife Lauren (St. Augustine, FL), sister-in-law Ellen Miller and her husband Joe Sharif (Lakewood, NJ), and brother-in-law Ira Bluestein and his wife Lynn (Frederick, MD), along with numerous extended family members and friends.
