Janet Reilly, age 67, died peacefully in her sleep July 14 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother in law, as well as a LOVING and DEVOTED Nan. Janet Reilly was born November 19, 1950 in Orange, NJ to Dominick and Anna Capalbo the oldest of 3 children. Janet lived in Orange until 1972 when she married the love of her life George and moved to Brick, NJ.
Janet met the love of her life when they were 16 years old and were together since then for 51 years. Janet and George married September 2, 1972. Together they had two daughters Lisa and Joann. They moved to Lacey Township in 1977. Janet was well known throughout Lacey Township.
Janet was involved with Pop Warner/AYC for 38 years, she dedicated many years to the kids of Lacey. She loved cheerleading and was passionate about the girls she coached as well as the boys who played. She has passed that love of cheerleading onto all the girls she met and coached. Janet held many important positions from the Head Cheer Coordinator for Lacey for 38 years, Cheer Advisor, and a Scholastic Board Member. Throughout Janet's years of coaching she has won many competitions with her cheer teams. Janet was involved in the PTA, Coached her daughters cheer teams, and was her daughters Girls Scouts Leader. Janet was loved by many.
Janet is preceded by her husband George Reilly of 44 years. Surviving are her daughter Lisa and her husband Chris Locha of Lanoka Harbor, daughter Joann and her husband Jesse Ascolese of Brick, her five grandchildren Christopher, Jesse, Nicholas, Riley, and Francesca. Her brother John Capalbo of Ocean City, and sister Angela Capalbo of Lanoka Harbor, along with numerous family members.
