Mark Aloysius Collins, 53, of the Forked River section of Lacey Township passed away on January 11th.
Mark was born in Jersey City on September 2, 1966 to the late Aloysius Collins and to Mary Corrigan Collins of Lehigh Acres, Florida. He moved to Forked River during middle school, attending Central Regional and then graduating from Lacey Township High School in 1984. He attended Ferris State University in Michigan.
Mark was married to his high school sweetheart, Teri McMahon Collins. They have three children together Jonathon (Jack), Ryan and Sean. He is also survived by his brothers: Brian Collins (Victoria) and Robert Collins, all of Fort Myers, Florida. He leaves behind many other family members, including his mother-in-law Dorothy McMahon of Lanoka Harbor, his sister-in-law Sharon Yalch (Peter) of Jackson, his brother-in-law Richard McMahon (Jennifer) of Bayville and his beloved nieces and nephews: Amanda and Michael Collins, Nicholas and Kathryn Yalch, Brandon and Connor McMahon. He also leaves behind his extended Mackintosh, Corrigan, McMahon/Rone/ DePolo, and Kingsland family members along with those friends who have become family...
Mark started his career in the convention services industry but took a chance on automotive sales and found his calling: He worked in almost every position on the sales floor and even sold boats for a time.
Having a passion for boats Mark loved nothing better than an afternoon at Tices enjoying a beer with his friends. Unless of course, he was playing golf or riding his motorcycle or watching football hoping for a win for his beloved Giants. Mark was an Assistant Scoutmaster for Boys Scout Troop 156 and enjoyed coaching for Lacey Pride Lacrosse as well as other various sports in Lacey. Mark was a chaperone for many of the boys’ Cedar Creek School trips and an active member of the Alpha School PTO. He was also a member of the Lacey Township Elks.
Mark’s larger than life personality will be missed along with his quick wit, hot wings, ability to answer endless trivia questions and his love for animals. Mark was always willing to help someone out.
It was a running joke with everyone that if something went wrong with a food order, it would be Mark who got the problem plate.
Donations may be made in his honor to the Lacey Township Elks #2518 Special Children’s Committee Camp Moore fund; which works to raise funds needed to aid “special needs children” in the community.
