Robert Friedland

Robert Friedland (“Bob”), age 66, passed away on Sunday August 11, 2019 at Southern Ocean County Hospital in Manahawkin.  He was born in Irvington, NJ on April 19, 1953.  Bob resided in Toms River, NJ and Manahawkin where he lived at the time of his passing.  He was a Toms River North high school graduate who went on to receive his college degree from Montclair State University.  Bob worked for the Ocean County Board of Social Services from which he retired after many years of service.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Marie and his two daughters Deborah (William) Cordivari and Aimee (Robert) Libutti. Bob leaves behind his greatest loves, four grandchildren, Mollie and Mia Cordivari and Kyle and Kendall Libutti.  He is also survived by his two brothers Wayne (Rose) Friedland and Kenneth (Lisa) Friedland as well as many cousins, a loving niece and two nephews.  Bob was predeceased by his parents, Abe and Mollie and younger sister Debra as well as his beloved nephews Dustin and Daniel Friedland.

Bob will surely be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness and compassion for those around him and most of all his love for his family.  He truly enjoyed spending time outside, relaxing with his brother and family on the beach in SP and listening to his favorite music.  He will especially be remembered for the love and laughter he gave to his four grandchildren. 

A celebration of Bob’s life will take place on Thursday August 15th from 3-5pm at Layton’s Home for Funerals.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory would be appreciated to the DJD Friedland Foundation via their website at djdfriedlandfoundation.org or via check made payable to the DJD Friedland Foundation and mailed to 600 Hudson Street Apartment 1D Hoboken NJ 07030.
