William C. Keller, a 45 year resident of Lacey Township, passed away Saturday, June 14th at the age of 74.
William is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce (neé Mastrangelo); his sister, Barbara Y. Keller; his children, William C. Keller II and John G. Keller; his grandchildren, Evan, Luke, and Tori; his daughters-in-law, Lisa and Lynette; and his beloved blue and gold macaw, Leonardo.
William was born January 12th, 1944, in Montclair, New Jersey. He grew up in Verona, New Jersey, where he graduated from Verona High School in 1962. Bill was a graduate of Upsala College where he earned a degree in Chemistry in 1967. Following graduation, Bill and Joyce were married in 1968 and resided in Parsippany, New Jersey. Bill was hired by Union Carbide and was later transferred to Illinois in 1969. After briefly living in Freehold, NJ, Bill and his family settled in Forked River, where he built his home in 1973. Bill’s love of woodworking led to the beginning of his company, Colonial Woodcraft. Bill enjoyed sharing his craftsmanship with his family by creating custom interior trim, beautiful built-in bookcases, and outdoor decks and planters.
An avid sports fan, Bill was constantly heartbroken by the New York Jets but the New Jersey Devils usually eased his pain. He was also passionate about music, cooking and baking. It was also very hard to find a crossword puzzle he couldn’t finish.
In lieu of flowers and donations, the family is asking everyone to just sit back, crack open a Budweiser or Michelob, listen to some Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd, and enjoy your favorite memories of Big Boss Bill.
A private service was held at Layton’s Funeral Home, Forked River, NJ.
