Alice Jane Minervino

Alice Minervino of Lanoka Harbor passed away at home on September 8, 2022 surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with breast cancer. 

She was born in Newark, NJ to Arthur and Lula Gordon on October 9, 1949.  After briefly residing in Maplewood, she spent her childhood in Brick, NJ, graduating from Brick High School in 1967.  Alice then attended Ocean County College, Newark State Teachers College, and Monmouth University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  She later received a Master’s Degree from Georgian Court University. 

Alice taught 5th grade at the Ocean Road School for the Point Pleasant Borough Board of Education, retiring in 2007 after 33 years of service and being named Teacher of the Year (2006/2007).  Her passion was her students and she made many lifelong friends during her teaching career. 

Alice was an avid reader and a cat lover.  She loved the beach and enjoyed spending time at her condo at the Tides and everything that Cape May had to offer.

Alice was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Lula Gordon, her mother-in-law, Bertha Minervino, her father-in-law, Alfonso Minervino, and her brother-in-law Robert Minervino.

Alice is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Rocco (Ricky) Minervino, her sister-in-law Phyllis Kirk of Forked River, her brother-in-law Ronald Minervino (Sarah) of Sayreville, and her sister-in-law, Sherry Minervino of Montague.  She is also survived by her nephews and nieces Drew Minervino (Diana), Robert Minervino (Jennifer), Kim Cesaretti (Albert), Melanie Conti (Richard), Lori Blood (Kenny), Alfonso Minervino (Jennifer), Alessandra Minervino, their families, and her dear friend, Jennifer Nolan, who gave so much love and support during her illness.
