Andrew “Andy” Yuhas, affectionately known by many as “Buzz,” passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born on October 4, 1939, in Old Forge, PA, Andy spent much of his life throughout New Jersey, ultimately making Forked River his final and most cherished home. He also spent several happy years in Fort Myers and Naples, Florida, enjoying the sunshine and nearby beaches.
In November of 1960, Andy married the love of his life, Valarie – fondly known as Trina – beginning a 65-year journey of devotion, partnership, and unwavering commitment. Their marriage was a true example of loyalty and enduring love.
Andy proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. After completing his service, he began a long and meaningful career in product package development – first with Mennen in Morristown, NJ, and later with Colgate-Palmolive in NY, where he worked until his retirement. Throughout these years, he also built a life centered around family, friendship, and the everyday joys he treasured most. One of his favorite passions was golf – whether he was on the course or watching a tournament, the game brought him peace, connection, and genuine happiness.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Valarie; his daughter, Nancy Dvoretsky; his son-in-law, Paul Dvoretsky; and his grandchildren, Alec (and his wife, Jackie) Dvoretsky, Nicole Dvoretsky, and Zachary Yuhas, along with many extended family members who cherished him. Andy now joins his brother, Eugene, and his son, Robert, in heaven, bringing comfort to those who hold his memory close.
Andy will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and steady presence – qualities that touched every person fortunate enough to know him. His legacy is one of love, quiet strength, and a life lived with sincerity and heart.
Funeral services will be held on April 11, 2026, at St. Pius X in Forked River, NJ, at 10:30 am.
