Arlene M. (Weible) Oliver, 83, of Forked River, passed away on Friday, September 18th.
Born in Englewood, NJ, Arlene was the daughter of the late Adah (Tatro) Weible and Walter J. Weible. She was raised in Dumont, NJ, and moved to Bayville shortly after marrying Paul Oliver, with whom she shared a loving and devoted life. Together they raised their daughters, Susan and Lynda, and created cherished family memories during annual trips throughout the United States.
Arlene began her career as a clerk in Berkeley Township, continued her education, and ultimately retired as the Tax Assessor for Stafford Township, a position she served with dedication and professionalism.
Although Arlene and her late husband, Paul, traveled far and wide, many of their happiest memories came from their adventures in the western United States. They were especially fond of the Colorado Springs area, where they purchased acreage with a beautiful mountain view, hoping one day to retire there. After Paul’s passing, Arlene continued to travel with her sister, Adrienne, often returning to their favorite destination along the coast of Maine.
For many years, Arlene also vacationed with her grandchildren in Vermont, near the region where her mother’s family originated. As her grandchildren grew, she took great pride in attending their sporting events, school activities, and milestones.
Arlene is predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul Oliver, and her daughter, Susan Dickhaus, wife of Rick Dickhaus.
She is survived by her daughter Lynda Egbert and son‑in‑law Brian Egbert; her sister Adrienne Weible and brother‑in‑law Arthur Abrahamson; and her grandchildren and great‑grandchildren: Paul Egbert and his wife Julianne, and their daughters Ada and Anna; Kristen Egbert Fadden and her husband Michael, and their daughter Faith; Julia Dickhaus; Katherine Dickhaus and her fiancé Brian Busch; and Sara de Zarraga and her husband Gaston, and their children Gaston and Lucia.
Arlene will be remembered for her devotion to family, her love of travel, and the deep pride she took in her children and grandchildren.
