Filippa was born in Minturno, Italy on June 18, 1931. Twenty years later she arrived in the United States where she was welcomed by family in Stamford, Ct. Upon leaving Stamford and after several moves in New Jersey, she and her husband found themselves in Matawan where they opened up Marino's Nursery and Garden Center on Highway 34.
Filippa's passion for floral beauty was expressed in her daily activities at the garden center. She loved to cook delicious meals and Sunday pasta was a must! However, her real passion was loving her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was truly blessed with a long beautiful life of love and family as well as touching many hearts of those she met throughout the years. Filippa was deeply loved and admired by all. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
