Our beloved Mom, Florence (Graham) Lendener, 93, of the Forked River section of Lacey Township, NJ, died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, August 23rd.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Florence resided in Old Bridge, NJ. before moving to Forked River 31 years ago. She worked in the Accounting department as a Supervisor of the Receipts Section at the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, East Brunswick, NJ, for over 20 years before retiring in 1991. After retirement, she was a volunteer at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Florence was a communicant of the Church of Saint Pius X, Forked River, NJ.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, William Lendener, and her three younger brothers and their spouses, Joe and Josephine Graham, Frank and Teresa Graham, and John and Kay Graham. Florence is survived by her two daughters and a son-in-law, Joan Lendener, of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and Susan and John Nicholas, of Summit, NJ, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Florence's Life will be held Saturday, September 17th, with guests welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Arrangements are by Layton's Home For Funerals, 250 W. Lacey Rd., Forked River, NJ 08731, (609) 971-6800. A repast will be held outside at The Captain’s Inn, 304 E Lacey Rd, Forked River, NJ 08731, (609) 693-3351 following the service.
