Kerry R Covey, Sr.

Kerry Raymond Covey Sr. passed away on October 23, 2022 at the age of 76, at home surrounded by family. Kerry is survived by his eldest son, Kerry Jr, his wife Michele, his youngest son Matthew and his wife Nancy, eldest grandson, Jacob and his wife Ashleigh who are expecting Kerry's first great grandchild, and three other grandson’s Justin, Ryan and Bryan. He was predeceased by his mother, Rita Hahn, his father, John P. Covey and his wife, the love of his life, Linda J. Covey.

Kerry spent 50 years of his life as an auto mechanic and retired in 2011. He was active with the Lacey Soccer Club when his children were younger and was influential, with his wife Linda, in making the Lacey Soccer Thanksgiving tournament a success and leaving a footprint for the club to succeed and build upon its past success.

Known as Pokey by his friends and coworkers and Grumpa by his family, he spent his last hours as he did his life, yelling at someone for something. His family would have it no other way.

A memorial service will be held at Village Lutheran Church, 701 Western Blvd, Lanoka Harbor, NJ on November 12, 2022 at 12pm. A time of remembrance and celebration will be held afterward where friends and family can share stories. Light refreshments will be served during that time.
