Valerie Brown

Valerie Brown, 75, of Lanoka Harbor NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2020. 
She was born in Jersey City on May 26, 1944 to William and Helen Robson and was predeceased by her brother, William.  She lived in Carteret where she married, and is survived by, Alan Brown on August 20, 1988. They relocated to Lanoka Harbor where she was very active supporting local causes through the Women's Club of Lacey.

She adoringly loved and is survived by her son Scott Schaefer, daughter-in-law Sue Shields, stepson Wayne Brown and beloved nieces Karen and Kathy Robson. 
Valerie especially loved watching her grandchildren play and grow up successfully including: Jessica Brown, Alyssa Shields, Jeffery Shields, Jordan Brown, Haylee Schaefer, Scott Schaefer Jr., Gary Brown, and great grandchildren Audrina, Autumn, and Aurora.

She loved to laugh, celebrate birthdays and accomplishments of those she loved, and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, especially if the games supported a good cause.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Popcorn Park Zoo at ahscares.org where she made many memories with her grandchildren and volunteered for Doggie Angels with the Women's Club of Lacey. Donations can also be made to the KidneyFund.org 
Her friends and family encourage kind words and photo memories to be left on the Tribute Wall for viewing.
