Victoria E Majewski

Beloved Sister, loving Wife, and favored Aunt passed away at her residence on 28 December 2021. Vicki was born in Elizabeth but was a long term resident of Forked River having settled down in her home with the love of her life Frank Majewski. 

She was a beautiful person who gave lots of love to her family and friends.  Vicki leaves a legacy of love. She was famously known for her fierce loyalty to her family and trusted friends.

Among her family she was known as the family historian with a sharp memory to recount the early days of life in Elizabeth and South Tom's River. Vicki pulled no punches delivering the truth and her quick wit was one of her trademarks.

Victoria was preceded by her parents, Thomas and Victoria Lihou, and husband, Frank, who passed away in 2017. She is survived by her brother Norman T. Lihou and his wife Karen; her sister Mary Lihou; her sister Lorrie Rush and husband Daniel Rush; her nephews Daniel Rush, Joshua Lihou, Jared Rush, and Tiernan Lihou; nieces Victoria Shrieves and Elizabeth Lihou. Vicki left behind her paw babies Copper and Hope. 

Because of her love of animals, in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Popcorn Zoo and Rescue.

EULOGY TO VICTORIA:

What can I say about my younger sister Vicki? To me, she was the embodiment of NJ. Meaning she was a fierce friend, loyal to the core, had a sarcastic wit, was always brutally honest and everything she said, she said with LOVE because she cared about you and had a big heart!!

She was named after my mother and always claimed she had her personality but the rest of us thought she was more like my Dad. Both delivered the unvarnished truth, saw things in black and white, and believed that family always comes first. Vicki held us together after the loss of our Mom and then Dad. 

Her ability to recall all our childhoods, the details of growing up, and memories of all major family events will be sorely missed as she was the "Family Story Teller". I feel sad that my kids, nephews and my kids' children will not be able to hear the entire stories of the Lihou Family now that Vicki is gone.

Vicki loved her husband Frank unconditionally and we would all be lucky to have a love like them. Vicki had a tradition of celebrating Frank's birthday not just on a single day but for the entire month to show how much she loved him. When Frank passed away it delivered a gut punch of unimaginable pain and loss to Vicki. She withdrew from us for awhile but slowly crawled her way out of the tragedy and started reconnecting with the world. As she would have famously put it: "It is what it is" followed up by "Suck it up Buttercup!". These sayings were not meant to be uncaring but the exact opposite! No matter what life throws at you, YOU have to continue, you have to keep moving FORWARD, you have people who love and care about you, KEEP LIVING!!

Because Vicki and Frank never had children, I honored my sister by using her middle name for my youngest daughter's first name, Elizabeth. I got Vicki's approval and told her my intentions to use her name because she meant do much to me. I now see some of Vicki's personality traits in Elizabeth, so Vicki will always be with me.

Lastly,

Our family get togethers will never be the same, we lost our HEART. My sisters and I have to learn how to be a trio and not a quartet. My sister Lorrie had a very special relationship with Vicki. As Lorrie & Mary were know as the "Lihou Sisters" in high school, Lorrie and Vicki were synonymous with the "Lihou Sisters" since then. It was rare that Lorrie and Vicki were not sharing time together, whether on trips or our family events around the Tiki bar.

My hope is that Vicki, Frank, Mom, and Dad are all together now and however heavy Vicki's heart had become, it is now filled with joy as she is with the love of her life and the patents who loved her.

My heart has a hole in it that can never be filled but the best way to honor my sister is to keep living life, don't let despair and sadness take over your life, live life honestly, and ALWAYS keep your family and friends close to your heart! I love you so much and will never forget you!
