I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Vives just this year and he always brought a smile to my face. He was always cracking jokes and kept me and other nurses on our toes. We will miss you. My condolences and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.

It doesn't seem possible that such a vibrant personality is gone. He was bigger than life, but always down to earth in his dealings with hospital employees. In all my years working at SOCH/SOMC he was always friendly, helpful, and he loved, loved to share details about his sons, whom he adored, how smart they were, what good doctors they would be, and their intelligence he said they didn't get from him but from his wife. I am sure he will be misssed by many.

He was more than just a colleague - he was a teacher, supporter, mentor and valued friend. I will remember him often.
